I have always enjoyed drawing and painting and my favourite Christmas present was a huge box of paints from my father when I was eleven. I grew up in North Norfolk so had the sea on one side and the countryside the other and have a love for both. The feelings they engender I try to express in my art. I suppose it's the shapes and textures, light, shadows and space. They all capture something special for me and I record these moments.
I paint in watercolour and gouache which suits my style and approach to subject matter. My work is detailed but not fussily so. I have an affinity with animals and like to think, if they could come off the page, they could be ridden or patted and made a fuss of.
My work has been exhibited at:
*Not the Turner Prize, was launched by the Daily Mail to celebrate traditional, figurative British art. The exhibition displayed only 400 pieces from the 10000 applicants received.
